Retrofit Analysis of a Concrete Viaduct

Time June 21th, 2016 (tue) 8:0 - 9:0 GMT

Webinar Overview
The webinar will discuss the seismic capacity of a concrete viaduct built in 1939 in Treviso downtown (Italy), over the Central Station railway. It is a skewed three spans bridge, respectively 24.7, 29.3, 24.6 m long and 13.80 m wide.
After the description of the preliminary investigations (geometry, materials etc…), the presentation will concern the analyses performed (non linear static, linear dynamic and non linear time history) for different retrofit strategies as per the Italian Standards and Eurocodes.

“MIDAS expert webinar series” is a new training program that aims to help engineers gain technical insights in applying finite element method in structural design and analysis projects. Every month, we will host a webinar, in which one of our guest experts will share one project and how he overcomes the design and analysis difficulties with MIDAS software in the project. It's a good opportunity for you to gain technical insights in different specialized fields, as well as applying finite element method in structural design and analysis projects.
midas Civil is a state of the art engineering software that sets a new standard for the design of bridges and civil structures. It features a distinctively user friendly interface and optimal design solution functions that can account for construction stages and time dependent properties. Its highly developed modeling and analysis functions enable engineers to overcome common challenges and inefficiencies of finite element analysis. With midas Civil, you will be able to create high quality designs with unprecedented levels of efficiency and accuracy.
