Pushover Analysis of Reinforced Concrete Buildings

The presentation will discuss nonlinear structural analysis of existing
buildings. Existing reinforced concrete frame structure behavior will be
analyzed through three typical pushover procedure steps, completely implemented
in midas Gen: (i) nonlinear static analysis, (ii) estimation of seismic
demand through definition of single degree of freedom equivalent system, (iii)
calculation of capacity and safety verification. Reference code is EN
1998-3:2005, “Eurocode 8: Design of structures for earthquake resistance - Part
3: Assessment and retrofitting of buildings”.
