MIDAS/FEmodeler is an automatic
finite element mesh generator, which is used
to create the geometry of a finite element analysis
model as a preprocessor. It is fully compatible with
MIDAS/Civil in terms of data interface.

Plate Mesh Generation
|
| |
- The program provides 24 different types of basic
features. In order to create a 3-D structural configuration,
you simply select a suitable feature from the basic
feature template and enter the relevant geometric
parameters.
- Once you specify the subject basic features, MIDAS/FEmodeler
automatically calculates the intersections and identifies
the individual components separated by the intersections.

Solid Mesh Generation
|
| |
- Mapped Meshing
A group of 12 curved lines defining a closed volume
automatically generates solid element mesh.
- Extrusion
Planar elements representing a cross section are extruded
into solid elements as follows:
Translating / Rotating Planar Element
Gliding Planar Element
Projecting Planar Element
Projecting Solid Face
|
| |

|
| Solid
elements are generated by the Gliding Planar Element
function. Plate elements are extruded into solid elements
following a predefined line
|
| |
Gliding Planar
Element allows planar elements to glide
(follow) along the path predefined
by a discontinued line. The planar elements
then become selectively extruded into solid elements.
This becomes an extremely useful feature generating a
discontinued (intermittent) solid structure.
